Meet Clifford Osborn, Waldo’s Customer Support Manager

July 1, 2019

How long have you been with Waldo?

I joined Team Waldo in Spring of 2018, so I have been here for over a year, and am now going through my second summer of supporting our camp partners and families.

I heard about the company, saw the vision of Waldo, and knew I wanted to be a part of it!

What do you love about helping customers?

I can’t imagine the stress of sending your camper off for a week or more, sometimes longer than they have ever been away from home before. Waldo provides that connection to their camper that they would otherwise not have, so it is a real treat being able to help a parent having any trouble. My favorite moments are the reactions when a parent or grandparent gets that first photo sent to them, as it is almost always accompanied with a loud shriek of “Oh my goodness there they are!”, and then a big sigh of relief when they see a smile on their camper’s face. Those reactions are powerful reminders of the amazing opportunity we provide, and something I will never forget.

What excites you about upcoming product features/which one?

Team Waldo is constantly adding improvements and new features, and it’s so great talking with camps and families, finding out what they want to see, and getting to help make it happen. I am personally most excited about the new Waldogram Postcards we just released! It gives parents a meaningful way to communicate with their camper with just a few finger swipes. No more finding stationary and stamps, and dropping something in the mail. It’s all done online, and sent for them! The reaction from parents and campers has been amazing. Parents can also send these to anyone in the world, to share those memories with family anywhere!

If you could go anywhere in the world tomorrow where would you go?

Probably Iceland, or somewhere in Asia. I was born and raised in Texas, so I would want to see and experience somewhere totally opposite of home. Then again, after looking at all the great photos our camps take, I see what I missed out on, and would love to visit some camps and get to be a camper for a while! Any camps that will have me, hit me up!

If you were stranded on a desert island which Waldo employee would you take with you and why?

I would definitely want Jordan Epton out there with me! Jordan is on our sales team and travels to all the camp shows. He does a great job of bringing amazing camps onboard with us, and then we work closely together everyday to deliver them a great experience. We are already good buddies, and he has an infectiously positive and upbeat energy around him. He would make living on that island a ton of fun, and his ingenuity would probably help us put together a rockin’ beach house!
