Facial Recognition Tech Comes to Schools & Camps

July 30, 2019

Waldo Photos Inc. is introducing new facial recognition technology to summer camps, schools, and sports leagues across the United States. The technology allows camp photographers to upload photos to a service where they are scanned and identified, and then sent directly to parents via text or website. This eliminates the need for parents to sift through group shots and ensures they receive photos of their child having fun. Waldo’s founder, Rodney Rice, emphasizes that the facial data used to identify children is secure, with no possibility of misuse. With more than 150 summer camps already using the service, Waldo Photos Inc. is providing an innovative solution that allows parents to stay connected with their children while they are away at camp.
